With this Fall 2021 appeal to mid-level and major donors, Planned Parenthood of Greater New York wanted to create an optimistic tone and emphasize the importance of their donors in ensuring Planned Parenthood remains a stable force amidst instability.

At the time of this campaign’s development, Texas had just passed their heartbeat bill, and the Supreme Court was soon to hear the most consequential case for abortion access since Casey. Access to abortion is an established right of New Yorkers, but that doesn’t mean PPGNY is 100% safe and separate from the potential effects of these rulings.

Within this political context, PPGNY also wanted to emphasize that even though healthcare has been made a political issue, behind the politics are patients. I communicated this visually by covering the brochure with an image of the supreme court, but filling the inside with patient pictures and care statistics.
